printemps/été 2011

just wanted to share a gorgeous fabric i am using for the s/s line... it sets the palette for the collection, a mix of grey tones, creams, nudes, rose... and a few surprise colours to stay tuned for.

this snakeskin print is a silk chiffon... it is so light, delicate, and romantic...

i can see this print worn in the city or on a beach...

doll in a doll... dress in a dress?

My man left me for a week or so (for work) to Russia, and the good man that he is always asks me what I would like brought back. From this trip I requested the classic wooden doll in a doll, a matryoshka. It's only been a day now since I acquired my new gift but find myself opening and closing her all the time... there's something so exciting about the discovery of something hidden.

Which got me thinking... wouldn't it be great if I could do that with a dress? A dress inside a dress, perhaps a beautiful slip? It's easy to find a beautiful dress anywhere, but one that has another dress inside it, what a lovely surprise! If you don't know me well, I'm meticulous (I've heard from some a tad obsessive), but I do believe that there are those of us who appreciate not only what's on the outside and can be seen by all, but what's hidden can be even better.

I am attempting one for spring!

Keg Parties (for a good cause)

With the upcoming Fashion Week here in Toronto, I am excited to see some shows, go to parties, but am a tad sad I'm not showing. In the past years, I have been a bit pessimistic about Toronto's Fashion Week, but am positive these days of the possibilities and opportunities that Toronto holds within the world of fashion.

My man had a great idea last night to make sure I'm a part of it next year... keg parties! Lots and lots of keg parties to raise enough funds for a beautiful runway show... Why not? We used to do it to pay the rent in university...

p.s. will keep you posted when the first kegger happens!

Clothing Swap!

My two best friends and I have done this sort of thing with our clothes for years now... makes you feel like you've gained a new wardrobe without having the shell out the big $$$. The OMG Swap is the perfect breakup of a long weekend of family and turkey stomach aches. And with an eensy weensy donation of $5 to charity, you can declutter your closet and snag up some new gems without the usual shopping guilt feeling afterward.

Fit it in betweeen pumpkin pie and nap time!

Champagne Wishes all Weekend...

A jam-packed weekend full of family, friends, and most of all... Champagne!
We don't all get to celebrate our Champagne Birthdays, lucky for me, I did. It has been my go to drink for quite some time now, hence, a celebration ever so fitting. The champagne fountain was flowing on Friday Night, tons of food to feed our drunken' bellies, and then we did it all over again on Saturday Night. One of the most fun weddings ever celebrating great friends!

The gals below (from left to right) Jules in a custom dress by moi, Tanya in BCBG (I think), and me, in obviously my own design, le SPARKLE.

I think this is somewhere in between giggle delirium and back to the bubbly!
